Château Suduiraut – Sauternes

Château Suduiraut – Sauternes

Château Suduiraut is a premier cru classé (French for « first growth ») winery located in the Sauternes appellation of Bordeaux, France. The winery has a long and rich history dating back to the 17th century when it was owned by the Suduiraut family. Today, the winery is owned by AXA Millésimes, a French wine investment company.

The Sauternes produced by Château Suduiraut is a sweet white wine made from Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle grapes that have been affected by noble rot, a type of fungus that concentrates the sugars in the grapes and gives the wine its unique flavour profile. The wine is aged in oak barrels for 18 to 24 months, which adds complexity and depth to the wine.

The Château Suduiraut – Sauternes has a rich golden colour with aromas of honey, apricot, and orange blossom. On the palate, the wine is sweet and luscious with flavours of honey, caramel, and dried fruit. The wine has a long and lingering finish with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity.

This wine is perfect to enjoy as an aperitif or with desserts such as crème brûlée, fruit tarts, or blue cheese. It can also be paired with foie gras or spicy Asian dishes.
